Rapala X-Light Pop 04 4cm Surface Popper

A small popper that makes a lot of noise for its size. The cupped face throws a loud pop on every pull and an internal rattle carries the sound further, which is what brings perch and chub up to look at it.

The tail treble is dressed with feathers, so it keeps working in the pauses between pops rather than hanging dead. Cast it flat against reeds, lilies or an overhanging tree and work it back in short pulls.

Which colour?

• Live Roach (ROL) – silver roach scaling with a dark back. The natural pattern for clear, calm water.
• Fire Tiger (FT) – chartreuse and green with black bars over a yellow body. Easy for both you and the fish to track on a broken surface.
