VMC Free Rig Tungsten Weight (3 Pack)

A tungsten cylinder weight with a wire eye, made for the free rig and equally at home on a drop shot. Tungsten is far denser than lead, so the same weight is a much smaller object, and it telegraphs what the bottom is made of straight up the line.

That feedback is the point of the rig. Gravel, silt and weed all feel different through a tungsten weight, so a few casts tell you where the clean spots are before you commit to fishing them.

Which weight?

• 5.3g – the finesse option for shallow water, canals and light spinning gear, where you want the lure to fall slowly.
• 7g – more casting weight and a quicker drop, for deeper swims, a bit of flow or a breeze on the surface.
