Sticky Baits The Krill Active Freezer Boilies

Krill Active is The Krill with a soluble coating wrapped around it. Sticky built it in 2014 for a trip to Lac de St Cassien and kept it to themselves for years, rolling it only for special sessions, before finding a way to make it at scale.

The coating is a paste layer of super-soluble liquids and powders. In the water it starts breaking down straight away and floods the swim with free amino acids, which is how carp locate food in the first place. That is the whole point of it — attraction arriving in seconds rather than leaching out over hours.

Fishing it

Go easy with extra liquids. Too much breaks the coating down before the bait is even in the water. Use it straight from the bag or out of an airtight bucket, and do not air dry it — the coating dries too fast and crumbles off.

Which size?

• 12mm / 1kg – smaller bait, more coated surface per kilo, so proportionally more attraction going out.
• 16mm / 1kg – the standard size and the sensible starting point.
• 16mm / 5kg – the session bag for baiting at volume.
