Rapala X-Light Crank Mid Runner 03 Crankbait

The Mid Runner sits between the shallow and deep versions of the X-Light Crank, working at around two metres. That is the band a lot of perch and small pike hold in on a canal or a small river, and it is deep enough to bump structure without dragging bottom on every cast.

At 3.5cm and 4g it is a small bait, but the wide body gives it a hard wobble at slow speeds, so you can keep it in the zone rather than winding fast to make it work. It floats at rest, so pausing it over a snag lets it back up and out.
