Okuma INC-8000 Carp Reel

The INC is the compact end of the big pit idea. The 8000 holds 440m of 0.33mm and picks up 123cm of line a turn, but the body stays small enough to sit comfortably on a rod you are holding rather than one parked on a pod all night.

Gearing is oversized for cranking power, and the 30mm long stroke spool works with a super slow worm shaft to lay line evenly with very little friction. The graphite body is sealed against the weather and the Cyclonic Flow Rotor pushes air through it to dry out anything that gets in.

The handle is rigid metal with a weighted wooden knob that settles in a vertical position, so it lines up the same way every time you reach for it. Two round metal line clips hold the line without putting a kink in it, and the drag is a fast progressive design that goes from locked to giving line quickly.
