Korda Marker Float

Balsa is about as buoyant as float material gets, and on a marker float that is the whole job. Nothing wastes more of a session than finding the spot you wanted and then watching the float refuse to come up.

This is the shorter of the two Korda marker floats, built for ranges up to around 100 yards. The body is thin and the flight is shaped to fly cleanly, so it holds its line in a crosswind instead of kiting off to one side. The flight is bright orange, which is what you want when you are picking a float out of grey water at ninety yards.

Balsa does not enjoy being dragged across gravel, so the base carries a plastic cap that takes that wear instead of the wood.
