Guru QM1 Barbless Hooks

The QM1 was designed around the Method feeder, and its shape is the reason. A swept point, a beaked tip and an in-turned eye combine to sit the hook at the angle a self-hooking rig needs. It has long since spread past the Method – bomb and pellet, the Hybrid feeder and the pellet waggler all suit it.

It is forged from heavy-gauge wire so it holds together against double-figure commercial carp, yet the bend stays compact enough that a hook bait still sits naturally. The PTFE coating keeps the point sharp for longer and cuts friction on the strike.

Which size?

• Size 10 – the strongest here. Bagging carp on the Method or Hybrid with a full-size hook bait.
• Size 12 – the everyday commercial choice, and where to start if you are unsure.
• Size 14 – for smaller baits, colder water and days when bites need coaxing.
