Drennan Crystal Caster On The Drop Pole Rig

Crystal Caster rigs are built around a see-through float, so there is no solid painted body to spook fish sitting up in the water. That makes them a rig for fishing shallow and on the drop.

The short hollow tip carries a wide range of baits, and the slim body and titanium wire stem keep the rig still and stable even in an open water swim. Shotting is spaced for a slow fall, and the size 18 Wide Gape Pellet hook suits maggot, caster, worm, soft pellet and small pieces of meat.

Which float size?

• 0.4g – the lighter of the two, for shallower water and calmer days.
• 0.5g – a little more weight to settle the rig when there is a ripple on or you are fishing deeper.
