Drennan AS Carp Pole Rigs

Commercial carp pole rigs designed with five-time World Champion Alan Scotthorne and hand-tied in Drennan's own factories on the AS Carp float range. Five patterns cover the ground from shy-biting F1s in open water through to big margin fish; three of them are stocked here.

All of them use highest grade balsa bodies with a tough acrylic paint finish, interchangeable Hi-Viz tips and barbless wide gape hooks, and the 6in hooklengths fit Drennan Hook Plates. Each rig comes shotted, on a winder, ready to fish.

Which rig?

• AS1 – 0.2g, 0.4g, 0.6g. A slim, sensitive pencil body with minimal resistance, for shy-biting F1s and smaller carp. 3m, 6lb (0.18mm) mainline to a 5lb (0.16mm) hooklength, size 16 barbless wide gape pellet hook, 1.5mm tip.
• AS3 – 0.4g, 0.6g, 0.8g. The classic body-down shape, for stability and clean bite indication on maggot, caster, corn, soft pellet or a small piece of meat. 3m, 7lb (0.20mm) mainline to a 6lb (0.18mm) hooklength, size 14 barbless wide gape carp hook, 1.8mm tip.
• AS5 – 0.3g, 0.4g, 0.5g. The heaviest tackle of the three on the shortest rig: 2.5m, 8lb mainline to a 7lb hooklength and a size 12 barbless hook.
