Drennan Acolyte Gripper Barbed 6" Hook Plates

The Gripper is the barbed pattern in the Acolyte hook plate range, tied for bigger hookbaits – pellets, corn or a bunch of maggots. Every hooklength is hand tied to Acolyte fluorocarbon and finished at 6″ (15cm).

Eight to a plate, held flat and straight under slight tension, so they come off ready to fish instead of curled out of a packet. The plate drops straight into a Drennan Hook Book or Hook Box.

These are barbed. The Silverfish, Maggot Plus, Carp Pellet and Margin Carp plates we stock are all barbless, so check your fishery rules before you pick.

Which size?

• 12 – 5lb (2.27kg), 0.17mm. The biggest of the three, for 8mm hard pellet, corn or a full bunch of maggots.
• 14 – 5lb (2.27kg), 0.17mm. The same line with a smaller hook, for 6mm pellet and banded baits.
• 16 – 4lb (1.81kg), 0.16mm. The finest of the three, for smaller baits or when the fish are being fussy.
