Daiwa Matchman Pellet Waggler Rod

Pellet waggler fishing is a casting game – a loaded float, a lot of casts, and fish that drift off the spot if the float lands in the wrong place. The Matchman is built around that: accurate and positive on the cast, with a crisp line pick-up for the takes that come on the drop.

The blanks are high modulus carbon with X-WRAP braiding reinforcing every butt section, which is what lets a rod this light hold its ground against a hard-fighting commercial carp. Under full load the action is power parabolic, bending through the whole blank rather than folding at the tip.

The handle uses an EVA reel locking foregrip with a hybrid cork and EVA Armlock grip behind it, over a downlocking reel seat.

Which length?

• 9ft – 155g, the lightest of the three and the easiest to cast accurately at short range on tight commercial pegs.
• 10ft – 165g, the middle length and the safest single choice if you fish more than one venue.
• 11ft – 220g, the longest we stock, for casting further and keeping more line clear of the water at range.
