Daiwa 23 Emblem 45 SCW QD Big Pit Reel

The 23 Emblem pairs a 45mm LC Long Cast spool with Slow Cross Wrap line lay, so the line beds down at the angle that lets it leave the spool cleanly. The twin lip spool edge cuts friction further, and the result is a big pit reel that casts a long way for the money.

Digigear II handles the winding, which is what you feel when a rig is being drawn back over a long distance. The ZAION V air rotor keeps the rotating mass low without giving up rigidity.

QDM Quick Drag takes you from free spool to fully locked in a single turn of the drag knob, so the setting can be changed mid-fight rather than between casts.

Spools supplied

• 'C' shallow spool – fitted, 300m of 0.35mm. Three of these fill from a 1000m bulk spool.
• 'LD' deep spool – spare in the box, 530m of 0.35mm.
