Daiwa 20 GS BR LT 5000-C Bite n Run Reel

The GS BR LT wears the old gold spool and wooden handle combination, but the engineering underneath it is current. LT Light & Tough carbon composite DS4 is used for both the body and the rotor, which takes weight out, while Tough Digigear and four ball bearings keep the winding smooth and powerful.

Bite n Run is the reason to buy it. A rear dial sets a second, lighter drag that lets a running fish take line freely, and a turn of the handle drops straight back to the main ATD setting. ATD engages without any starting resistance, so the drag gives line the instant it is asked to.

The forged long cast ABS spool is tough and its LC rim helps the line leave cleanly on the cast. The one-touch handle folds flat, so the rod can be carried made up.
