Rapala Shadow Blade Spinning Rod

A high-modulus carbon spinning rod that loads quickly and recovers fast, built for lure work where you want to feel what the lure is doing rather than guess at it.

The build is where the money has gone. Fuji 'O' Concept guides run the line cleanly off a fixed spool without wrapping the tip, the Fuji VSS reel seat locks a reel down solidly, and an aluminium blank connector puts the blank in direct contact with your hand so you feel a lure ticking bottom.

Which one?

• 6ft / 182cm - Light (3.5-14g) – small crankbaits, jigs and soft plastics. At 102g it is light enough to fish all day, and short enough for canals, small rivers and overgrown banks.
• 8ft / 244cm - Medium Heavy (14-42g) – the longer, stronger option. The extra two feet buy casting distance on open water and the 14-42g range covers bigger jerkbaits, spinnerbaits and jigged shads for pike and zander.
