Trakker Ronnie Hook Section Micro Barbed

The hook end of a Ronnie rig, tied and ready. A Clinga SP hook is mounted on a size 11 Ronnie Swivel so it rotates through 360 degrees and reacts the instant a fish inhales the pop-up — the mechanic the whole rig is built around.

A Supa-Grip Hook Bead and a medium Hook Rigger hold the angle and stop the bait sliding on the cast. A plastic bait screw takes the place of floss and bait stops, so the pop-up goes on in seconds and sits square above the hook.

Which size?

• Size 4 – For 18–20mm pop-ups and bigger fish.
• Size 6 – The one most Ronnie rigs are fished on, matched to a 15mm pop-up. Start here.
• Size 8 – Small and subtle, for 10–12mm pop-ups and pressured, clear water.
