The Essentials strip the frame back to almost nothing – 20g, thin arms, no extras – while keeping the same polarised lens used in the Fortis Wraps. What you give up is the frame, not the optics.

At 139mm across with a 16mm bridge they sit narrow and close to the face, which is what keeps the weight down over a long day.

Which lens?

• Brown 247 – the all-rounder. Boosts contrast and depth in mixed and bright light, which covers most days on most venues.
• Amber AMPM – built for soft, flat light. Lifts contrast at dawn and dusk, under heavy cloud, and in shaded swims.
