Drennan X-Tough Hooklength & Rig Line

X-Tough is a clear mono that stays supple and flexible while taking a lot of punishment. It resists abrasion and shot damage, which is what you want in a hooklength or rig line for float, feeder and pole fishing.

The strengths on the spool are achievable knot strength rather than linear strength, because there are not many rigs without a knot in them. Compact 50m spools.

Which breaking strain?

• 4lb – 0.15mm (1.81kg). The finest of the four. Pole rigs and light float hooklengths on commercials.
• 6lb – 0.18mm (2.72kg). The middle ground for carp on the float or feeder, and the one to start with if you are unsure.
• 8lb – 0.22mm (3.63kg). Feeder hooklengths for better fish, or rigs fished near cover.
• 10lb – 0.24mm (4.5kg). The heaviest here, for margin fishing and bigger carp.
