Trakker Nitelife Bivvy Remote Light

A bar light that magnets to the steel plate on your bivvy roof and throws its light downward rather than out over the water, which keeps the swim dark where it matters. One press cycles three white levels, then red, then an amber setting at 610 nanometres that moths and mosquitoes largely ignore.

A long press gives you a torch beam, four LEDs on the body show the charge level, and there is a USB output on it so the light doubles as an emergency power pack for a phone.

Which output?

• 150 lumens – 150mm long, 150g, 2500mAh. The lighter option for a brolly or a one-man shelter, and less weight in the rucksack.
• 200 lumens – 240mm long, 250g, 4000mAh. Brighter over a bigger bivvy, and the larger battery makes it far more useful as a backup charger.
