Korda N-Trap DF Ready Tied Carp Rig

The DF Carp Rig is Danny Fairbrass's own rig, tied with the components he uses himself. A Wide Gape hook on N-Trap Soft, with a blowback ring running on the shank and a piece of shrink tubing to set the hook at an aggressive angle.

It will fish a bottom bait or a wafter as it comes, and it will take a pop-up if you add a counterbalance weight. There is a size 8 swivel on the other end, tied on with a figure-of-eight loop knot. One rig per packet.

Which size?

• Size 4 – the biggest hook here, and the heaviest hooklink at 20lb.
• Size 6 – 15lb N-Trap Soft, and where to start if you are unsure.
• Size 8 – 15lb N-Trap Soft, for smaller hookbaits.
• Barbed or barbless – all three sizes come both ways.
