Korda Kaizen Platinum Carp Rod 12ft 3.5lb

The Platinum is the top of the Kaizen range, and the 12ft 3.5lb is the model to buy if you want one set of rods that covers everything. It has the delicacy for a flick onto a spot at ten yards and the compression for a serious cast on a big pit.

The blank uses super tensile high-grade Japanese ZERO90 carbon in two layers with very little resin, which is what makes it stiff for its weight. A stiffer blank twists less on the cast, so the lead lands closer to where you aimed, and the tip stops dead after the cast instead of bouncing.

Components match the blank: lightweight Sea-Guide TDG rings with a 50mm butt so line cones cleanly off a big pit spool, a 16mm tip that passes a leader knot, a Fuji DPS reel seat, and Japanese shrink grip that holds even with wet hands.
