Korda Basix Wide Gape Barbless Carp Hooks

The Basix Wide Gape is the all-round pattern in the Basix range, and the shape is taken from the original Wide Gape. This is the barbless version, for the many waters that insist on it – and it ties up straight out of the packet for bottom baits, pop-ups or wafters.

The eye is aggressively in-turned, which is what makes the hook flip over and take hold – no Kicker or shrink tube required to get that behaviour. It is made from 'X' gauge wire, so it holds up on UK waters and abroad, and the point is built to last several fish. Check it after every cast regardless.

Which size?

• Size 6 – the larger of the two we stock, matched to 15mm baits.
• Size 8 – neater in the water, matched to 12mm baits.
