Korda Kaizen Green Carp Rod

Kaizen Green sits below the Platinum range and is built on a similar fast-tapered mandrel, using a more affordable grade of carbon. The action is close to the matching Platinum model – very tippy until it loads up, which is what generates tip speed on the cast and picks line up quickly.

The same taper leaves enough give in the tip to absorb a fish plunging at close range, so it is forgiving to play carp on rather than punishing a rushed netting job.

Which model?

• 10ft 3lb – for smaller waters, stalking, and boat work where a long rod gets in the way. Also the easiest of the four for a younger or newer angler to handle. 40mm butt ring, 12mm tip.
• 12ft 3.5lb – the all-rounder. Soft enough to fish under your own rod tip, and capable of putting a 4oz lead beyond 100 yards. Start here if you are unsure.
• 12ft 6in 4lb – six more inches of distance without the handling of a 13-footer. Fishes from under your feet out to around 140 yards.
• 13ft 4lb – the most powerful model in the range, for fishing at long range week in, week out.
