Korda Boom Fluorocarbon Stiff Link 25lb

Boom exists to make stiff booms – the straight section that holds a spinner, hinged stiff or combi rig away from the lead. It is fluorocarbon with a green tint, which blends into a lake bed better than a clear material does.

It is stiff enough that the rig kicks away from the lead system on every cast and settles straight, which removes most of the tangle problem before the lead has landed.

The other reason to use it is that it crimps. Knots in thick, stiff material are where home-tied booms usually go wrong; a crimped loop is repeatable and lets you fix the length exactly.
