Korda Wide Gape X Barbed Carp Hooks

The Wide Gape has accounted for an enormous number of big carp since it was launched, and the X is that same hook stepped up in wire gauge for snaggy water, weed and bigger fish.

The shape is unchanged: a slightly in-turned eye, a short shank, a heavily forged bend and a very sharp beaked point. It suits a wide spread of pop-up and bottom bait presentations, and once it goes in it tends to stay in.

Which size?

• Size 4 – the larger hook, for bigger baits and heavier tactics.
• Size 6 – the more all-round option of the two.
