A hand-tied whip rig at 4m, ready to fish out of the packet. Whip fishing is the quickest way to put a lot of small and medium fish in the net, and these are tied to match the lengths of the Drennan Vertex whips.
The shotting is an olivette with droppers below it. That gets the bait down through the upper layers to the fish that are actually feeding, helps the rig fly out cleanly and keeps tangles down over a busy few hours.
The 4lb mainline, 3lb hooklength and size 16 barbless hook suit maggot, caster, pellet and sweetcorn.
