Drennan Insert Crystal Waggler Float

The Insert Crystal is the slim member of Drennan's Crystal waggler family – a thinner body than the Giant Crystal, with a fine 2.3mm insert in place of a thick tip. That thin insert exaggerates the tiniest bites from finicky fish, and the Glow Tip finish keeps it readable in poor light.

The body is tinted transparent Crystal, which gives away far less than a dark painted float sitting above a wary fish in clear water. Tips are removable and interchange with the other floats in the Crystal family, and the whole range is built concentrically so shotting capacities stay true from one float to the next. Fish them bottom end only, through the base eye or on a Float Attachment.

Which size?

• 0.8g (2BB) – the lightest of the six, for short range on a flat calm day.
• 1.0g (2.5BB) – a little more shot for a ripple, still light enough for shy fish close in.
• 1.5g (2AA) – the middle of the range and where to start if you are unsure.
• 2.0g (2.5AA) – for casting further out, or holding a line when there is tow.
• 2.5g (3AA) – a proper distance float for open water and a stiff wind.
• 3.0g (2 Swan) – the heaviest, for the far bank and the worst of the weather.
