Drennan Hybrid Solid Pole Elastic

A solid elastic made with newer polymer chemistry, so it stretches and forgives more like a hollow while keeping the power and durability you fish a solid for. It is a shade softer and stretchier than latex, but only just, so the colours and power ratings line up with Drennan's Power Pull latex.

The surface finish is the other half of it. Less friction through the bush means the elastic lasts longer and, more to the point, recovers fully every time instead of hanging half out of the tip.

Six metres per packet, which is two long top kits or three shallow ones.

Which diameter?

• 1.2mm Pink – power rating 5 to 7. Silvers on canals and rivers.
• 1.4mm Yellow – power rating 7 to 9. Skimmers and a stamp of better roach.
• 1.6mm Green – power rating 9 to 11. The all-round commercial grade, and where to start if you are unsure.
• 1.8mm Red – power rating 11 to 13. F1s and small carp.
• 2.0mm Blue – power rating 13 to 15. Carp in open water.
• 2.2mm Purple – power rating 15 to 17. Bigger carp and fishing near cover.
