Blue Fox Vibrax Original Size 2 6g Spinner

The Vibrax Original is the spinner the rest of the Blue Fox range grew out of. Its two-part machined brass body turns independently of the blade, and that patented arrangement is what virtually eliminates the line twist most spinners hand you after an afternoon of casting.

Inside the body a free-turning brass gear rattles as the blade spins, putting out a low-frequency thump as well as flash. That is what pulls a fish in from a distance in coloured water or under a broken surface. The 45 degree blade runs it at 0.6 to 1.2 metres on a steady wind, which is the depth band you want on most rivers and shallow stillwaters.

Size 2 at 6g is the general-purpose size for perch and chub on a light spinning rod, and it will take trout and small salmon in moving water.

Which colour?

• Silver (S) – plain silver blade and body. Maximum flash, and the one to start with in clear water and bright light.
• Gold (G) – gold blade and body. A warmer, softer flash that works better in tea-coloured or peaty water.
• Comet (C) – copper-bronze plating on both blade and body. The most subdued of the three, and a good call on hard-fished clear venues.
