Guru Super XS Eyed Barbed Hooks

The Super XS Eyed is the specimen end of the Guru hook range: a wide-gape pattern in strong wire, aimed at big fish. This is the barbed version, so it is one for rivers, canals, natural stillwaters and any lake that allows a barb.

Being eyed is the point of it. Hair-rigging a chunk of meat for barbel or banding a 6mm pellet for chub both want an eye, and the extra-wide gape with a long point leaves a fish little room to shed it. PTFE coated for sharpness and durability.

Which size?

• Size 8 – the largest here, for big hook baits and the heaviest fish.
• Size 10 – meat, corn and larger pellets on rivers and natural venues.
• Size 12 – a banded 6mm pellet or a smaller hair-rigged bait, still with big fish in mind.
